This website showcases many photos that have been shared in classrooms, lectures, and published in books. However, some of these photos had not been disclosed until now. My dissatisfaction with the lack of disclosure, combined with the support of my friends, motivated me to make them available here.
My initiative and curiosity for photographing plant diseases were sparked by Professor Erlei. In 1989, he introduced me to his camera, a Canon FTb, with an FD 55mm lens, three close-up rings 58mm +1, +2, and +4, along with a piece of black velvet, all of this packed in a somewhat worn light brown leather bag. He taught me how to handle it, entrusting me with many of our photos, most of which were developed into slides.
The beginning of my work was with a Canon EOS Elan IIe Ø 58mm, 28-80mm, 1:3.5-5.6, and with it, many other photos of plant diseases were captured, mostly during the "Plant Disease Diagnosis" course taught by Professor Laércio. Many slides were developed with great effort to cover the costs. I acquired my first digital camera, a Panasonic DMC-FS3 with a Leica lens, which has accompanied me to this day in the field and the laboratory. I believe that providing these photos will assist those who need to identify diseases and pathogens.
